Rising Russian sensation Not Now Please made a truly extraordinary debut on our imprint several months ago, with a standout remix of Aftruu's "7802." It's our great pleasure to present "Tibet," a four-track deep and progressive house EP that was inspired by the enchanting terrains of several lesser-known global locales.
In "Tibet," mesmerizing pads resonate like singing bowls and bring the listener to a profound state of awareness. A cavernous bassline invites the listener to look deeper still, ultimately arriving at a calm center in the midst of the vortex. An airy and exceedingly poignant chant fills the midpoint breakdown and subsequent drop, which further elevates this timeless composition.
We next travel to the West Indies with "Barbados," which centers on a hypnotic, repeating 1/8th note guitar riff and evolves into an expansive tapestry of sound. The evocative, patiently crescendoing soundscape reveals new aural dimensions at every turn, including reverberating bass swells and a variety of breathtaking melodic flourishes. Ultimately, a kaleidoscopic main theme emerges, which proves to be nothing short of rapturous.
The atmospheric and often ethereal "Lena" begins with a gentle deep house groove, as a thoughtful chime and other mellifluous motifs fill out the soundscape. Each percussive and melodic element reinforces the song's greater vision of a supreme state of mental clarity. Meditative female vocal samples, perhaps a nod to the song's titular protagonist, guide the listener deeper into this state, ultimately delivering a lasting peace.
The 'Mantra' Mix of "Tibet" features the beautiful and exotic vocals of Tiana in the song's main breakdown. Her voice floats above the rest of the track and carves its imprint in intricate swirls, much like an ever-expanding mandala pattern. Each note brings with it the subtle awareness of respiration, as the listener pauses after each inhalation to feel the breath within.
Out of these two remix albums I much prefer Remix 02 as there are alot more remixes with which I enjoy. Monstercat Silk has done an amazing job with the selection of artists as this was the album that made me want to drive deep into the Monstercat realm with which allowed me to discover an album with which I look forward to purchasing in the future. Although not as spectacular as it's younger brother The Midnight Remixed does have a couple of good tracks making it worth purchasing and eleven.five 'Leftfield' 's remix of Jason is one of them. Amazing work. DJ Fazbear
